Valorant’s New Agent Fade Abilities, Nationality And More
The Valorant Fade will be released on April 26, when Episode 4 Act 3 is anticipated to come down. Despite the fact that this has yet to be confirmed, executive producer Anna Donlon revealed in January’s ‘Episode 4 Act 2 Look Ahead’ developer vlog that the new Valorant agent would appear in Act 3.
So far there haven’t been any official sneak peeks of Fade in trailer form, though we can expect to see a full reveal on April 24 during the 2022 Valorant Champions Tour Masters Reykjavík Grand Final.
Valorant Fade Role
In March 2022, John “RiotMEMEMEMEME” Goscicki revealed in the ‘State of the Agents’ blog that Fade, the new Valorant initiator, is an Initiator.
“There have been a lot of conversations within the Characters team around Initiators, specifically Sova,” RiotMEMEMEMEME says. “His Initiation tools are unique in that they rely on reconnaissance and information gathering to give you and the team tools to decide your next step. So much of VALORANT’s tactical loop revolves around information. Knowing where enemies are is not as important to winning. You need to know where they are so you can take advantage of the moment and kill them.
“So the notion of another Agent that revolves around the information gathering aspect of the tactical loop has, for a while, been top of mind for us.”
Valorant Fade Abilities
Riot MEMEMEMEME also revealed the agent’s kit’s theme side with the announcement that Fade would be an Initiator. According to the developer, “this next Agent should give you a more… intimate feeling when hunting down enemies” – spooky.
Since then, well-known leaker ‘Valorleaks’ has revealed Fade’s complete toolkit. Take all leaks with a grain of salt, as usual. Here are Fade’s abilities.
Prowler (C)
Send out a creature that can follow trails or be controlled by moving your mouse. Upon reaching an enemy, the creature will cause them to be Nearsighted for 3s. You can only have one creature per trail.
Seize (Q)
Equip and Fire an Orb that will hover in the air for 1.5 seconds before crashing to the ground. Enemies within the radius will be tethered when the orb hits the ground, taking damage and becoming deafened.
Haunt (E)
Use your Orb to hit the ground and then it will go back into the air. It will turn into an eye and if enemies get seen by the eye, they will be revealed. They will also get a trail debuff.
NightFall (X)
A wave of dark mist is sent out. If the fog touches an opponent, they will be Deafened, Trailed, and Decayed.
Valorleaks has said that the trail debuff will work like footsteps or a line. Once you have the debuff, wherever you go, there will be footsteps or a line following you and enemies will be able to see it.
Valorant Fade Nationality
Valorant’s Fade is Turkish. RiotMEMEMEMEME ended the latest State of the Agents post with the following sentence: “I’m scared of the grind, but hey ‘Everyone has a fear.'” A quick Google Translate confirms that the final part is Turkish, and means “everyone has a fear” in English.

Finally, the blog entry concludes with a photo of a cup of tea and what appears to be a little plate of Turkish Delight. As reported by ‘Cynprel’ on Twitter, Valorant lore enthusiast ‘valohabercisi’ has noted that the ring poking out from the saucer is embellished with what appears to be an evil eye bead – a traditional Turkish charm that protects against evil.
Fade is the last person you want to find in the dark. But you’ll want to see where this trail leads.
Tune in for the Masters Reykjavík Grand Final on Apr. 24 for the first look at Fade gameplay and cinematic debut. https://t.co/tjWD4P1e7G pic.twitter.com/hFVrUZlvFt

Looking at Fade’s official splash art, we can see the evil eye incorporated into the midriff of her design.
That is all we have for now on the Valorant Fade release date. As Episode 4 Act 3 reaches its conclusion, keep an eye out for further information. You won’t be able to try a different Valorant crosshair just yet, but you can always switch up your gameplay by experimenting with a new Valorant crosshair.
