Fortnite Aim Assist is Breaking for Some Players Thanks to a Strange Mirror Bug
Some gamers have discovered a strange new bug in the most recent No Sweat summer event patch, which is causing aim assistance to malfunction. Aim assist is important to controller players’ experience, despite being controversial in most competitive shooters. Mirrors are, however, causing a bug to break that.
Some Fortnite players have noticed that they are receiving no aim assistance in specific areas of the map, Professional Fortnite player TwitchAv discovered this problem and decided to look into it, claiming that the fault is being caused by “the mirrors.”

Mirrors in Fortnite are said to have a “2x2x2 area all around them.” Players do not receive any aim assistance while in this region and will see that loot is teleported outside of the radius until the mirror is destroyed.
This is a game-breaking bug, as it puts controller players at a significant disadvantage. It’s also hurting loot in console versions, so PC users are also seeing the problem. While this mirror glitch appears to be strange, there is a quest that asks players to look into a mirror.
It’s possible that this bug was caused by Epic modifying something to do with mirrors when adding this quest into the game. This is what Reddit user NewCompte thinks, explaining how the problem might have arisen.
Epic is now Working on the Fix for the Mirror Bug
Epic has already acknowledged the problem, and according to the developer, it is being addressed as soon as possible. Any glitch that affects aim assist and loot can have a significant impact on the player experience, therefore any bug that causes such an issue should be resolved at once.
