World’s most powerful and costly GPU Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti
Nvidia is releasing it’s $1,999 GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GPU. Following a rumored delay in January, the “world’s fastest graphics card” will be available for purchase from Asus, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galax, Gigabyte, INNO3D, MSI, Palit and PNY today. A limited-edition Founders Edition motherboard has also been produced by Nvidia for sale through Best Buy online.
The RTX 3090 Ti is a triple-slot card with the same familiar design as its predecessor, the RTX 3090. Both cards appear identical at first look, with Nvidia optimizing what its current 8nm GA102 chip is capable of inside the RTX 3090 Ti with 24GB of GDDR6X running at 21GB/s. The RTX 3090 has the same VRAM as the RTX 3090 but it has a nearly 7.7 percent faster memory clock. This means that it has a total memory bandwidth of 1008GB/s.
The RTX 3090 Ti will reportedly have 40 teraflops of GPU power, with a base clock of 1560MHz and a boost clock of 1860MHz. That’s higher than the 36 teraflops on the RTX 3090, which had a base speed of 1395MHz and an increase to 1695MHz. The RTX 3090 TI also has 10,752 CUDA cores, 78 RT-TFLOPs, and 320 Tensor-TFLOP
In terms of gaming performance, the RTX 3090 Ti will be about 64 percent faster than the RTX 2080 Ti and 9 percent quicker than the RTX 3090. While Nvidia heavily promoted the RTX 3090 at 8K gaming during its introduction, the company is really focusing on the RTX 3090 Ti for professionals and anybody else who needs a powerful GPU for gaming or other creative work.
The RTX 3090 Ti is a workstation graphics card that’s ideal for large apps like Blender, Maya, or Cinema4D, as well as research systems for data scientists who require big data sets. Developers and CG animators using huge collections of data might benefit from the RTX 3090 Ti on certain projects.
The biggest challenges will be cost and power requirements. The RTX 3090 Ti begins at $1,999, implying we’ll see a lot of partner boards well beyond the $2,000 mark. Still, if you want to claim ownership of the “world’s fastest graphics card,” Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is now available for $1,999.
