Game developer Naughty Dog has announced a delay in the release of “The Last of Us Part 1” on PC. Initially set to launch in early March, the game’s release date has been pushed back to the end of the month, with a new launch date of March 28th. The developer made the announcement via a Twitter post, stating that the delay was “by just a few weeks.”

“The Last of Us Part 1” is a next-gen remake of the original game released in 2013, and is currently available exclusively on PS5. The game’s popularity has also resulted in a live-action series adaptation, making the franchise a hot topic online.

Fans of the game may be disappointed by the delay in the release of “The Last of Us Part 1” on PC, but the postponement is only by a few weeks. Players who were looking forward to playing Naughty Dog’s acclaimed story-driven survival-action game in March 2023 will still be able to do so, just a bit later than originally expected.

The Last of Us Part 1 PC Port delayed to March 28, 2023

Developer Naughty Dog has announced a delay in the release of the PC version of “The Last of Us Part 1” through an official blog post and social media updates. Initially set for a March 3, 2023 release, the game will now be available on March 28, 2023. The delay is to allow for additional time to optimize and enhance the game, as stated by Naughty Dog.

Naughty Dog, based in Santa Monica, explained that the extra time will be used to ensure a top-notch experience for players who have been eagerly awaiting the chance to play Joel and Ellie’s story, a wait of almost a decade. Naughty Dog wrote:

“And so we want to make sure that The Last of Us Part I PC debut is in the best shape possible. These additional few weeks will allow us to ensure this version of The Last of Us lives up to your, and our, standards.”

“The Last of Us Part 1” was released for the PlayStation 5 in the previous year and received highly positive reviews from critics. Although some players considered its $70 price point to be steep, especially for those who already played the game on PS4, the upgraded graphics made it a great option for newcomers to experience the acclaimed narrative by Naughty Dog.

The game has gained recent attention due to the highly praised live-action adaptation, considered one of the best video game adaptations so far. Despite originally slated for release in early March 2023, the PC port has been postponed by over three weeks and will now be available at the end of March 2023.
