The game isn’t complete yet, and even the beta for Blizzard’s Overwatch 2 has bugs. Textures problems and vulnerabilities have been among them thus far, allowing hackers to use aimbots and other cheats in Overwatch 2.

The previous bug, on the other hand, was significantly less severe; it allowed players to crash the game using Wrecking Ball’s Grappling Claw ability. This issue was serious enough that Overwatch 2 developers temporarily removed the character.

Wrecking Ball is a diminutive hamster piloting a huge spherical mech in Overwatch, one of the game’s more amusing characters. The character has remained largely the same since the first game, rolling across the field and knocking people aside. On May 2nd, however, Overwatch 2 players discovered a peculiar and game-breaking bug with Wrecking Ball’s Grappling Claw ability. By firing the Claw straight down, Wrecking Ballplayers can instantly kick everyone else from the game.

The problem does not cause the match to be canceled or the lobby to be shut down. However, it crashes every other player’s game and removes them from the server. This bug causes Overwatch 2 to fill up its game with nine fresh players. However, the Wrecking Ball player who caused the bug is unaffected. This allows them to accomplish goals without opposition. Making matters worse, players may use this bug as many times as they want, removing rivals from the map as soon as they connect. Cheaters can exploit Wrecking Ball’s buggy ability to glitch their way to a one-sided victory by spamming it.

On Every Map in Overwatch 2, there is a fault that causes the game to become unplayable. It’s not clear what causes it, but developers are working on it and have disabled Wrecking Ball until a solution can be implemented. Nonetheless, this is one of the stranger bugs seen thus far, and how an apparent physics bug could crash everyone’s game except for the player who started it is difficult to fathom. Hopefully, the developers of Blizzard will take care of the problem before too long.

As previously said, this isn’t the only bug players have discovered in the Overwatch 2 beta. Some gamers just discovered a method to enter the unfinished PvE version of King’s Row. Meanwhile, a recent texture problem resulted in characters spawning without their hair. Sombra appeared to have a buzz cut, Sojourn went completely bald, and certain characters such as Torbjorn and Brigitte had parts of their heads chopped off.

Nonetheless, both of those bugs were relatively minor. There’s no way to get to the unoccupied portion of King’s Row during a match, and losing hair is at worst a bothersome annoyance. On the other hand, the Wrecking Ball glitch is considerably more detrimental to player satisfaction.
