When Carl Pei was with OnePlus, he had almost perfected the art of marketing teaser campaigns around a smartphone release. Even though they lacked the means to satisfy demand for their device, OnePlus’ previous devices have benefited from his method of generating excitement. His most recent project at Nothing is no exception.

In the United Kingdom, Nothing will exclusively work with a service provider named 02, while in India, smartphone manufacturer Nothing has teamed up with Flipkart and in Germany, Telekom Deutschland will be the sole provider.

Manu Sharma, vice president and general manager of Nothing India said, “From selling out ear (1) in under two minutes during our first Flipkart sale to breaking into the top three brands in the premium true wireless earbud segment in our debut quarter, we have demonstrated that India is excited for a new consumer tech brand to emerge from a stagnant industry,” when announcing the collaboration.

“We want to continue this successful partnership streak with our highly anticipated smartphone Nothing phone (1) which I am certain will disrupt the smartphone space as we know it.” – Manu Sharma

When asked about the smartphone’s processor, founder of OnePlus Carl Pei previously stated that it would be powered by a Snapdragon SoC, there are no confirmed facts regarding the device’s features and specifications

A rumor surfaced a few days ago claiming that it would have a Snapdragon 778G SoC, 8GB RAM, a 4500mAh battery and a 6.43-inch FHD+ display with support for a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+.

Meanwhile, Nothing has started the beta version of the Nothing Launcher for Android devices in order to offer potential customers a taste of what it’s like to use the device. The Nothing Launcher gives users a chance to try out the underdevelopment Nothing OS, which will be included with the company’s first smartphone later this year.

When you first launch Launcher, you’ll see a new “How to Set Up” page. Apart from that, the launcher includes a Dropbox link to extra wallpapers and ringtones.
