Xbox Game Pass introduces a new game for PC, Cloud and Console platforms on 1st July

Compared to previous months, it appears that Xbox Game Pass may have a dry spell at the end of June. Microsoft announced new Xbox Game Pass updates today, including Shadowrun Trilogy and Total War: Three New Kingdoms, but there were no additional details about June after the 23rd. Fans already know FIFA 22 and Naraka: Bladepoint are being added to the service next month, but there’s nothing else on the horizon.

It’s unclear if there’s anything more to be revealed in terms of new titles being added to the Xbox Game Pass, but it’s strange to see a full week pass without any newly-confirmed games. It wouldn’t be as odd if Xbox Game Pass didn’t announce a new July game; nevertheless, it did.

Far Cry 5 will be available to play on Xbox Game Pass on July 1 through the cloud, console, and PC. Assassin’s Creed Origins and For Honor have been added to Xbox Game Pass in recent months, albeit slowly but surely. It’s no surprise that Far Cry 5 follows in their footsteps. In this game, you assume the role of a “deputy,” attempting to foil Joseph Seed and his cult’s plans. A direct continuation of FarCry: New Dawn is also available as a standalone title and a Far Cry 6’s DLC featuring Joseph Seed once again.

Although today’s announcement is somewhat minimalistic in comparison to past releases, there are still a few Game Pass titles set to arrive this July. On July 5th, Last Call BBS will be available for download, Matchpoint: Tennis Championships on July 7th, As Dusk Falls on July 19th, and Immortality on July 26th. The final three will be accessible for both console and PC users.

Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass should also be informed that on June 30, the service will lose four games. FIFA 20, Jurassic World Evolution, Last Stop, and MotoGP 20 are all being removed from the service. They’ll be discounted for purchase but can still be played until June 30. Given that FIFA 20 is departing but FIFA 22 is incoming, it’s more of an upgrade and a loss of three games.

Regardless, fans may reasonably anticipate more information about Xbox Game Pass titles in the near future, especially those for later this month and more July games.
