The upcoming Duviri Paradox expansion for Warframe was highlighted at TennoCon

The Duviri Paradox Warframe's TennoCon

It’s been three years since Digital Extremes first revealed the Duviri Paradox at TennoCon 2019. With several free world expansions, the game’s land has evolved dramatically beyond its origins, and The New War expanding on the game’s rich lore more than any other expansion to date. With the Duviri Paradox, Warframe will go back to its roots and provide both newcomers and veterans a look into the terrifying Void.

TennoCon extended the teaser trailer shown at Summer Game Fest, with both gameplay footage and a live player demo. Bombastine, a skeletal showman who introduces King Dominus Thrax, the master of the Firmament, allows Tennos to visit the Duviri Amphitheater to witness a preview of the Duviri Paradox. Even to the degree that Thrax seems to have absolute power over what takes place in his realm during gameplay demonstrated at TennoLive, he was able to resurrect the Drifter repeatedly throughout.

The Duviri Paradox contains elements of a roguelike, with death only serving to propel the hero forward. The Drifter is resurrected several times by Dominus Thrax before making a daring escape after a disembodied hand appears from the sky. In Firmament, we’re shown how players may acquire new talents each “day,” providing intriguing build options to explore this strange, monochrome world.

However, this isn’t entirely monochrome. The peculiar hand appears to help the player by adding bursts of colors to interactive objects and riddles. The Drifter reaches a colossal statue of Thrax, where he is given a familiar selection between three Warframes.

According to DE, the Duviri Paradox can be played by both newcomers and veterans since time has been removed from the equation. Those that have yet to participate in The New War will get a taste of things to come, while veterans will receive a deeper knowledge of the Drifter and how they saved the Origin System in the prior expansion.

The Duviri Paradox’s release date is unknown, but it did introduce a new expansion that will arrive first, and it resurrects a beloved New War personality that we all expected was dead – Kahl-175
