Cardinals bringing in former Giants OG Will Hernandez
The Arizona Cardinals are hosting guard Will Hernandez for a visit this weekend, according to John Gambadoro from Arizona Sports.
Fans want to see the Arizona Cardinals make some moves. They want to see the team improve. The Cardinals have a few options and ideas they are looking at, but week one of NFL free agency was slow.
Another option is to try to compete with veteran members of the staff for a position. Will Hernandez is one of the people they are talking to us about.
Hernandez is a four-year veteran who was drafted by the New York Giants in the second round. He had a great rookie year, but he has since done worse. This shows that he has some potential.
Hernandez has been a problem because he is often a bully and has had trouble defending against pass rushers since his knee injury in 2020. He is a big, intimidating guy, but he has struggled since then.
Hernandez may be worth acquiring as a veteran alternative. He has some skill, but if he wants to be a major player in his career, he’ll need to improve his game.
Hernandez was also with Kugler when he was the UTEP head coach. Hernandez will be able to offer some knowledge about the position.
