Squid Game Creator has Provided an Update on the Season 2 Release Date
It’s been confirmed that the successful show Squid Game will return for a second season on Netflix, and fans are always eager to hear anything new. The series’ creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has revealed when the much-awaited season will be released, and it appears that the second season will likely premiere by the end of 2023 or early 2024.
Since its release, Netflix’s Squid Game has received a lot of positive feedback from both fans and critics, and it is one of the most popular original series on the streaming service. As a result, it was not surprising when Netflix announced that season 2 of Squid Game would be produced, and Dong-hyuk was brought back to take viewers on another amazing adventure.
The official premiere date of Season 2 has not yet been announced. The next batch of episodes will not be completed before the end of next year, according to Dong-hyuk. This means that Seong Gi-hun’s story may very well continue into 2024. With the premiere of Season 1 in September 2021, fans will have to wait over two years to discover what happens next for Lee Jung-jae’s Seong Gi-hun.
During his interview, Dong-hyuk revealed that he has “about three pages worth of ideas,” which he will use to write the script for Squid Game season 2. No specifics about the season have been announced yet, and all the creator can say is that there will be “more games.” Based on the first season, they are most likely going to be violent again. Only one winner may be chosen, implying that other contestants will lose their lives.
Gi-hun is the only one left at the end of the first season, having won all of the extremely violent activities. Despite having escaped, he returns to the secret island in order to put things to an end once and for all. Only time will tell if he succeeds this time around, but things could potentially get even more violent and political. Dong-hyuk stated that in the next season, “humanity is going to be put to a test through those games once again..”
