E3 2022 was cancelled entirely
The E3 conference this year has been cancelled, this year’s E3 has been called off.
According to the Entertainment Software Association, which runs E3, it has sold more than 100 million copies in a single day.
“COVID-19 has resulted in significant health risks for attendees, and as a result, E3 will not be held in person in 2022. Today, we are announcing that no digital E3 showcases will be hosted in 2022.”
The two groups remain at odds over the details of how to go about releasing a report, with ESA suggesting that there would be no physical meetings, but it is still technically feasible. Also, according to this email, digital E3 was discontinued as well. These emails appear to have been distributed to all ESA partners before the news was announced.

There has been no in-person E3 since then. The COVID-19 epidemic also caused the cancellation of the 2020 show, which was replaced by an online event with trailers and media digital booths. Many publishers, on the other hand, have refused to come or showed up at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Festival, which has made E3 2021 a disappointment for both fans and journalists.
