Bungie said that this year’s Destiny 2 Guardian Games would be no different from last year, especially with regard to depositing medallions on the Podium on the Tower. These medals may be earned by completing various activities in the game, as well as mini objectives such as Contender cards and Platinum cards.

On a different note, Destiny 2 is making some significant modifications to how Guardian Games will function in the future. While the core and ambience of the event will mostly remain the same, many of the game’s mechanics have been completely redesigned, with one of the most significant changes being Strike scoring.

When Guardian Games 2022 will begin?

Bungie just let a lot of details about the next Guardian Events event and Destiny 2 Season 17’s weapons. However, the event will take place on May 3, immediately following the weekly reset at 10:00 AM (1700 UTC).

The event will be available for three weeks, as it is planned to conclude with Season 16 on May 24.

What’s new in Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2022?

Unlike previous years which did not include any major new playlists or gameplay features. The 2022 edition of the event will introduce three completely unique playlists: Recreational, Training, and Competitive. Players will need to enter various playlists on various days in order to earn the highest number of medals. Players should seek their own scoring systems (individual vs. fireteam-based), and strive to achieve as high a Strike score as possible. The significance of Strike scoring is that it was a popular element in the original Destiny, and its presence in Guardian Games may suggest that Bungie is attempting to bring it back.

Instead of rushing through Strikes, players will have unique objectives to achieve the most damage they can, killing foes in unusual ways that will grant them Strike Medals, a new reward this year. This will assist anybody to earn more points even if they are matched with others that breeze through activities.

There are two separate Strike playlists that you’ll be able to access once the event begins: Training and Competitive.

  • The training playlist will be available from Tuesday to Thursday.
  • The Competitive playlist will be available from Friday to Monday.
  • Players can earn boosts in the playlists by ranking Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. These benefits are permanent until the weekly reset.
  • These boosts can be brought in regular playlists, and they’ll give extra rewards and medals.

Players can acquire torches in the Tower by obtaining high scores, which will cause their Guardian’s right shoulder to shine. Players may earn glows on their left shoulders by delivering medals to aid their class’ victory.
